Carbon Leaf Announces New Band Member
Carbon Leaf has been performing shows across the nation with a few changes in their line up every so often. One of their most recent changes includes when Carbon Leaf announced Jason Neal would join the band as their newest drummer in September 2007. In August of the following year Jordan Medas decided to leave the band to settle down with his wife and children. Medas decided he wanted to leave the rock and roll life style behind and pursue his passion of teaching. When Medas decided to leave he left Carbon Leaf without a bassist. Following Medas’ departure Carbon Leaf brought Jon Markel on to fill in as bassist at upcoming shows. Jon Markle proved to be a good addition which led Carbon Leaf to continue asking him to perform with them at concerts. After a few years of touring Markle was still not considered an official member of Carbon Leaf. Then on December 16 of this year Carbon Leaf released the news on their website that Jon Markel had finally become an official member. It’s been announced that Jon was born and raised in Philadelphia but was residing in Seattle, WA. When offered to become an official member Jon packed his belongings and beloved dog and moved to VA. Jon is currently working on learning the 60+ songs of Carbon Leaf as he performs. In the first week of December 2008 Jon played a show with the band in Raleigh. The next performance Jon will be involved in as an official member will be on December 31, 2008 at National Harbor, MD.
